Aug 2, 2024 19:34 – No significant change occurred this week at Great Sitkin, where the ongoing eruption of lava within the summit crater continues. Satellite views of the volcano showed growth of the active lava flow to the east and south of the vent, overtopping older lavas erupted from 2021–2024. Weakly elevated surface temperatures and steaming were also observed from the active lava flow surface when the weather was clear.
